I drove to Nebraska to see the total eclipse last August.
I wanted to try to capture the Baily's Beads effect so I used a very fast shutter speed.

Shortly before the moon fully blocks the sun during a total solar eclipse, the sunlight passes through the canyons around the edge of the visible surface of the moon and creates Baily's beads and then a diamond ring flash just before full coverage of the sun.
