a couple of black swans, originating from Australia were introduced at a lake near home about 4 years ago; ............despite being harrassesd by the local white swans, they got 3 babies who disappeared after a few weeks, very likely eaten by cats; ...........the next year they got 4 babies who survived almost one year; the white swans left for another lake and when they came back about 8 months later, the black ones were chasing them until they left again; ...........last year, all but one black swan remained: the other ones disappeared; two weeks ago, a couple of white swans came back and now they are chasing the only black one left.....
