Daisies Looking Outside at Winter

Black & White Inside & Out

by nature rules

Flower(s) in Black and White Contest Entry
Daisies are my favorite grocery store flower to have in the house as the winter keeps getting longer. These daisies were looking out the window at the snow covered ground.

These flowers are easy to render in Black and White. I especially like the view from the back...showing the interest in the stems and the bud that has opened into such a glorious flower and is still supporting it from 'behind the scenes'.

Black and white flowers seem strange to some. But black and white, , monochrome, strips a scene or subject to its bare essentials. It is important to find the grey scale in a black and white...as that is the color that takes on so many different shades. Controlling that is a bit of a challenge as is controlling the play between the light and shadows. I hope everyone can see that it doesn't make flowers bland...but makes them spectacular! ..in a different way. Thanks for viewing.
