OMG but Mother Nature slammed the brakes on my dreams of spring last night- BIG TIME!! Just as the snow that was already there was starting to melt....just a bit....she dropped over 2' more at my place.

Tried to get to the Apple Orchard earlier. The 'Dancing Girls' Apple Trees are pretty impressively dressed in white today but the snow plow has not been in and I wasn't wearing my snow shoes....so slogged down my driveway as far as I could before it started snowing again.

The softwoods in the image here (mid-morning, slightly overcast skies) were almost bare yesterday. Hard to believe....sigh.... I feel duly admonished for thinking of spring...lol It is only the beginning of March after all and this IS Vermont.....it will be awhile yet before spring comes my way.
