Phragmipedium humboldtii is a rare and local species with a large distribution range. The habitat of this species is restricted to the small areas of fragmented cloud forest and isolated from other similar forests. The population density is very low, the trend of the population is decreasing and the number of mature individuals is low.

This one was presented at a local Orchid Show. I found it fascinating. Wish I had a green thumb!
