Rainbow at the base of Lower Yellowstone Falls
Worth the Wait

My husband and I got up at 5 AM so that we could get to Artist Point and secure a prime spot to shoot Lower Yellowstone Falls when the rainbow occurs at around 9:45. When we arrived, the entire canyon was blanketed in fog and we could hardly see the falls. Slowly, the fog lifted until it was completely gone at a little after 9:00. It was a huge relief as I was beginning to wonder if we would be able to see what we came to see. The rainbow started with a soft purple at the top of the mist. As the purple dropped in the mist, the other colors slowly followed. It was an incredible sight and, well worth getting up early for it.
