2" deep purplish-pink double rose-like flowers with yellow stamens are born in summer on this unusual Cactus species. Rose Cactus is probably the least cactus-like Cactus with it's broad rounded semi-succulent foliage on a shrub-like plant. An easy and rewarding plant for indoors or out. Flowers may be followed by unusual pear-shaped fruit that are reportedly edible but are also reportedly quite bitter.
