Post Type: Mixed Media Traditional Art
Mixed Media: Maximum | This piece was an experiment for the tactile contest. I wanted to create a piece with lots of texture as opposed to actually drawing a texture. I took a canvas and brushed it with modpodge. I ten took tissue paper and crumpled it up, then straightened it out and then modpodged the paper to the canvas brushing another coat of modpodge on top of the paper. I wanted a fall forest with one tree up close. I sketched in my owl. I then created my forest canopy with watercolors. I then painted my tree and owl with acrylic paints. I am not used to working in acrylics so this was a real experiment. I am happy with the texture.
