Garuda is a bird creature from Hindu mythology that has a mix of eagle and human features. He is the vehicle (vahana) of the Hindu God Vishnu and appears on the God's banner. Garuda represents birth and heaven, and is the enemy of all snakes.

Garuda is venerated in Indonesia also. A shield representing the national ideology Pancasila ("The Five Principles"). ... The national emblem of Indonesia is called Garuda Pancasila. The main part of Indonesian national emblem is the Garuda with a heraldic shield on its chest and a scroll gripped by its legs.

(ack Wikipedia).

I took this shot on way to Tirupati one of the holy places during my visit to South India in April this year. This statue was located at the entrance to the temple town welcoming the visitors. I have retained the surroundings which will give you an idea of the wonderfully made imposing statue.
Camera: My android cellphone OnePlus 3T, image slightly cropped and slightly adjusted for light and clarity.
Enjoy!
