Some of the dunes in the Sossusvlei area in Namibia are particularly well known, the most famous being Big Daddy dune or ?Crazy Dune?, as the locals call it. Rising in height to around 350 meters, Big Daddy is one of the highest dunes in the world. A climb can be a quite an effort especially in the extreme heat but once at the top, dune climbers will be rewarded with a breathtaking view of the surrounding area.
