Long Ago and Far Away!

~ Three Four Two 'Zee' ~

by Sean T Phelan

Here's my old drawing of 'Cheryl Two',a late WWII vintage Bell P-63 'King Cobra' Ground Attack/Fighter aircraft!
Although our Soviet allies loved these things ( Our nation supplied them with many of them during the war ) and they became rather popular as modified Racing Airplanes after the war ended the King Cobra ( and the fighter plane that it was derived from, the P-39 'Airacobra' ) were never popular among their pilots in the U.S. Army Air Forces for a number of reasons.
This fictional example that I've drawn here ( and which was originally supposed to be the 'star' of an Occult/Alternate History story which never got written! *sigh* ) was imagined to have been based out in the Aleutian Islands up in the Territory of Alaska in 1945.
