I was going through my photo files and ran across this shot that I took last year of my favorite Lynx at the Minnesota Zoo. It had just rained and this guy's fur was still damp. I liked the way he looked at me :)

The Canada Lynx is a rare wildcat in Minnesota. They have very large paws that are rounded with fur on the pads that act as snowshoes, allowing them to easily walk on the snow. They are extremely elusive and are rarely seen by humans, which has earned them the nickname "Shadow of the Forest". They make a variety of sounds and vocalizations which are similar to domestic cats. They purr, hiss, growl, meow and shriek.
