Flamingo doing some preening

Contrary to popular belief, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service do not consider the Caribbean/American Flamingo a native species to the state of Florida. Rather, they are native to the north coast of South America, the Yucatan Peninsula and a few Caribbean Islands. That was certainly news to me.
