Mixed Media: None | This was a small underpainting on artist grade paper for a larger canvas in acrylic. I resurrected this and painted over in watercolours. I added the seagull's shadows and enhanced dune plants with highlights from the late afternoon sun.

Lights and Shadows - Art Contest Entry
I have a large canvas of this in a much smoother rendition. This is the original underpainting that I used to create a different effect by watercolouring loosely with long strokes then lightly with water loaded brush for sea and sand. I added the shadows of the gulls and highlights elsewhere to suggest a late afternoon with light to the West and shadows falling East.
