I spotted this little one shortly after it?s mom had left it,it disappeared behind a large oak tree in the woods, and when it didn?t reappear,I assumed that it had layed down.So I started to make a wide circle around the tree in order to locate it,which means taking small, slow steps, stopping often, watching where I placed my feet, and occasionally looking to see where the fawn was.The whole idea is not to look like you are looking for it,especially when it is looking right at you!Unfortunately it had found a spot next to some downed branches, and the best chance for a clear photo was going to be all the way over to the OPPOSITE side of the tree! Going against me was the fact that it was after 7pm and the sky was a bit overcast,so lighting wasn?t as good as I would have liked, and wasn?t going to get any better. After several minutes,I was finally in a good position for some photos. I adjusted sharpness and brightness, and edited out some distracting branches.
