My wedding anniversary more than half a century ago was in August, so I make a point of being out of the country around then. I was visiting a friend in Germany here. I used to give english tuition to her son. One night I had this awful dream. It is from this time that loins were girded and things became much worse, though in an overcrowded island, no one notices small differences. I am convinced, if Hitler had been a bit cleverer, he could have just taken over the island with no blood shed, but he was an idiot.
