The backdrop is taken loosely from a photo I have of Beamish open air museum. I wasn't sure what to add to it, I started with the pig in the sty, then the cockertal, the rest just kept happening lol. Had big problem with the hen, had to totally alter it and that's not easy with watercolours. I ended up using the watercolour pens.
I had to photo this artwork in the dark with my mobile phone or would miss the competition. There are some shiny areas as a result. Perhaps one of the photographers on site can advise.
