This was a memory exercise... from a memory this morning. It was very cold and frosty. As the sun came up the air seemed pinky brown I walked around the local harbour with our dog. There are many reed beds and many reeds have snapped. I saw a very little bird sitting all alone on a stump among full height reeds.... his feathers were ruffled. I think he was sheltering from the cold and wind. I don't know what kind of bird he was. He was very small with dark brown feathers and a lighter brown yellow breast. There was a distinct dark brown mark under his eye which made It lol larger. About the size of a sparrow.
