This Hollyhock ~ Alcea, was in bloom in late summer leaving three bud on the tip that did not open. This is the bud on the tip of the stem it started to open in the new year taking almost three weeks to open fully. The tips of it's petals are frost bitten & the stamens are brown but I hope you agree it's still beautiful.
