One of my best experiences during all my life, was teaching in Qingdao at Ocean University. I had my sixtieth birthday party at the German Cafe there and would have gone back but for my elderly mum's infirmities. I was particularly thrilled by the Sports day. I had never attended anything like it. I believe the Chinese copy theirs from the American version - well, their heaven is America. It was a very hot day in July and there was a heat haze. This is my favourite snap, because as the ball flew over to the corner were I was sitting, I just snapped it as it bounced to me.
Nostalgia is a sentimental longing or wistful affection for a period in the past, and that was it--The classes behave- I had classes of nearly sixty and seventy plus. You have to control the cheating at exams with a few, but it is the same here now, and you are treated with respect everywhere. The life style was really good for teachers, taken out for dinners, and treated to any number of enjoyable occasions. Teachers in England are disliked. I have tried to go back, but am just too old, my last tour was in 2009. I would go back even now at 75 yrs old if I could.
