This is a ginger plant flower, that's' what I call it. We have large ginger plant and for years all it ever showed was beautiful greenery, and then a couple of year back the first bloom appeared, every year since then a couple of them appear. It reminds me of an orchid in many ways, similarities in shape and color, but very different, more compact.
