Closeup photo taken of a large milk snake, about 2 1/2 feet long that my husband found in our basement. Now we have had snakes get into the basement before, but none were anywhere near as large as this snake,so we are a bit puzzled as to how it got in. Milk snakes tend to get cranky when bothered, some will go as far as to vibrate the end of their tails. This one definitely was not happy with being rescued from the basement and released outside. It did stay around for a couple of minutes, for me to get some photos, before disappearing into the tall grass. Adjusted sharpness to bring out the detailing in the scales.
