I was blessed to have my father in my life for almost 61 years before he passed away,unexpectedly,just over two years ago. One of the best things he ever did was to pass his love of photography on to me. I was always sending him photos;his favorites were the ones I had taken of chipmunks.So in honor of my Dad on Father?s Day,I am posting this photo of Chipper,a female chipmunk that I have been hand feeding for a couple of weeks. She has three peanuts,two in each of her cheek pouches,and one in her mouth.My golden retriever,Shiloh,actually assisted in this photo;instead of staying put,he had gotten up,causing Chipper to stop on the way to her hole,giving me time to get in front of her and take a few photos before she decided it was safe enough for her to go.
