The Eastern Cottontail [Sylvilagus floridanus] is a medium sized rodent of Canada, the Northern US, Eastern Mexico, and Northmost South America. The animals have a total length of 14-19 in [36-48 cm]. They have large hind feet, and a fluffy white tail. Their coat is red-brown or gray brown and white at the underside. Their habitat includes grasslands, clearings, abandoned fields, pastures, dense shrubs, meadows, open woods, swamps, and marshes. They feed on bark twigs, leaves, grass, fruits, vegetables, and seeds.
