This is a sculpture of Admiral Chester W. Nimitz, commander of the Pacific Fleet in World War II.
He had very humble roots and rose to this prestigious and important position in the Navy. His efforts helped win the war in the Pacific.
I thought the creator of this sculpture caught a dignified and serious look magnificently. I was in awe. It is located at the National Museum of the Pacific war in Fredericksburg, Texas.
