Refurbished Phone Image with Mixed Media

Antique Phone

I came across this phone in an antique co-op. The phone was really in bad shape, but I loved the thought of bringing it back to it's original look, with Mixed Media. The bottom right shows a small version of phone as it was in the shop ( it was pretty dingy and dirty). The large image is the phone with mixed media added. I cut out the phone and started working on it. The phone was painted as were the tangled cords. I tried to make them similar to the little color I could see on the original. This phone had so many cords I had to take some out. It could be they did't all belong to this phone. I brightened the metal ( which I think was brass) and added shadows. At the end I added a Redfield filter and changed the original back ground with some new color. It took a week, but I was pleased with the final results. Instead of looking dingy I think I gave this phone some new charm. I hope you enjoy seeing it. Thanks for stopping by! :o) Helvi
