a scared melting snowman

Oh No! It's Spring!

When I saw this cute snowman's face I just had to create something with him. I thought the fear of him melting in Spring would be a nice subject! A poem I wrote is included to match the image.

Post mote:
I have to thank MKFlood for inspiring me to write again. A new project is coming your way in August or September of this year. Mark gathered multi-artists together to create a Covid-19 theme. The theme inspired me to write a Covid 19 poem, which led to a spring poem that just tied for second place at Fan Story. That poem inspired the poem that goes with this image.
I hope you enjoy the both image and poem. Thanks for stopping by, :o) Helvi

As I went out to take a walk,
Upon a bright spring day,
I thought I heard a snowman cry,
As I went on my way.

I swear I heard him loud and clear
When he called out to say,
Oh no it's spring! I'm going to melt!
Don't let me drift away!

I had to turn around and look
To see if I was right
And what I saw before my eyes,
Brought sorrow to my sight.

I saw an icy teardrop fall
Down chubby snowman cheeks.
My sprightly step just disappeared,
From just that little peek.

My heart was full of sadness.
I knew I had to say,
A thing or two to cheer him up,
Before he slipped away!

Oh, tiny little snowman friend,
You will not disappear,
For you possess a special gift
That lasts throughout the year.

I know you think this meltdown
Is taking you away.
It's just a transformation from,
The form you are today.

You're found in every raindrop,
In every rainbow hue,
Because you're made of water,
You're sometimes morning dew.

Every snowman has adventures,
Life never is a bore
As you ride upon the rapids,
Or waves at the seashore.

You're everywhere, in everything!
My friend you give us life!
There's so much that's in store for you,
So wipe away the strife!

A snowman never melts away.
Somewhere a small child waits.
When winter comes he will rebuild,
Your charming snowman fate.

He'll not allow your pudgy cheeks
to fade away, oh no!
Because you're loved by everyone
Much more than you could know!

I think my friendship helped him out!
I think I saw a smile!
So I continued on my walk
With warm thoughts every mile.
