Plato once said "Light is the shadow of God". I created this piece as part of a devotional series, I shared with my church, entitled "Look for the Light". As artists our eyes are trained to look for the highlights and shadows, to create realism. The pandemic was a dark and uncertain time for many, in sharing, my hope was to encourage others to stop and look to the one who has answers. To remind us that God's love and His strength never change. He is as faithful now as He has ever been and His promises are still true. My inspiration was a scripture from the gospel of John "Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God" John 1:12 NIV. In times such as these, child-like faith is a treasure that needs to be nourished and protected. Look up child.
