Barnacles are small seashells about 1/4 to 1/2' That clump together upon rocks and sea vessels. The somewhat look like miniature volcanoes brownish to white with frilled edges. You can see them on on seaside docks and rocks at low tide. I happened to find some loose barnacles floating free and collected them. I'd never seen this before. I hope to create some Images you'll enjoy

Cut and pasted images Of loose Barnacles into a design of a flower and butterflies These were whitened. I shaped them into a flower than used a kaleidoscope fitler to redefine the shape. I am forever taking away and adding to the design..... I don't like every shape I see and go for the most delicate. I save the designs I want to create with and throw away the rest. Sometimes it's only a small portion of the design I created The butterfly wings were cut and shaped to create the butterfly. Colors were added to intensify the beauty....I hope you enjoy hat you see! :o) Helvi.

Barnacles are small seashells that somewhat look like miniature volcanoes with frilled edges. The attach themselves to rocks on the coast and the bottom of sea vessels. Even on seaside docks If you been to the ocean at low tide you can clearly see them on the rocks.
