This image is taken 15min from my house. At Beamer conservation area on the Niagara Escarpment, there is a path that only locals know about. We used to go there as teens and have bon-fires (and do other things we weren't supposed too). Through the gap you can see the whole town and in the distance is Lake Ontario. When I was younger that tree in the middle wasn't there and the view was unobscured. We used to go there for the big holidays in the summer during the big fireworks shows and watch them at eye level. If you get a chance to watch fireworks that way I highly recommend it! The rocks are mostly Limestone. From where I was standing the rocks around this 8ft gap are about 30ft high. If you're brave you can walk about ten feet further around the corner to the left, but if you slip it could take days to find what's left of you...
