Chick waiting for food

Visit to wetlands and the nest of the Purple Swamphen was away from the shore but could just see the little chick, only a couple of days old, waiting patiently as the parents shared food to pass on to the little one. They have exceptionally big feet and the mother was so careful as she moved around the nest at one stage I thought she had stepped on the chick but all was safe.
