I spent about 5 hours photographing Burrowing Owls at a location known for their nesting, getting about 300 photos. These owls are less than a foot tall and nest underground. They are active in the daytime, guarding and hunting from a perch. I narrowed my results down to this favorite, which gave me a perfect pose while really grabbing my attention with its contrasting background and piercing eyes.
Post Type: Photography
Mixed Media: None | This was photographed raw, so I had to make minor adjustments to accurately reveal its natural contrast, highlights, and shadows while modestly enhancing texture, clarity, vibrancy, and saturation. Some cropping , but no image alteration or background manipulation.
