Birds - Art Contest Entry
Do precious feathered gems called hummingbirds sleep? ???? Yes, hummingbirds sleep like other birds. All birds need some form of sleep to survive and recover from the stress of the day?s activities. Since hummingbirds are active birds who aren?t confined to a particular place and are always moving, sleep is vital for them to replenish their energy. Many people often wonder when hummingbirds actually sleep because they are always seen moving throughout the day, and many have never seen them sleep. So there is a rumor that these creatures never sleep. The exciting thing is that hummingbirds don?t sleep in a common way known to many. They have a different way of sleeping and resting, which is a form of hibernation known as Topor. Hummingbirds sleep on tree branches in an upside down position. Just like tiny bats but prettier!
