Delicate Snowflake from Oz

This is a snowflake from the land of Oz. Snowflakes there are quite different than the lovely white ones we see. Just like the horse of many colors this snowflake can change colors too. This is one view of the colors that can be seen. ............Every once and a while someone says they would have loved to see the original image of where I creation came from. I've included that within this image. The image on the upper left is a shot of my Xmas tree without any lights on or flash, except what's on the Christmas tree. I deliberately move the camera to the right while taking the shot. The upper left shows how the picture came out. .............The image on the bottom left is the Christmas tree after I changed it to a negative. I then cut spaces out that would create open areas in the snowflake. You are looking at the end result of that. That image went into the kaleidoscope filter. When I got a design I liked. I saved it in .png and cut out more areas in the flake and fine-tuned the flake. I highlighted areas, darkened the flake and added shadows. .............A new background was added and this is the finished result. I hope you enjoy! Thanks so much for stopping by! :o) Helvi
