Highland Color

Autumn Presidential Range

We began the trek to the summit before dawn. We reached the summit a little after 1 pm. This shot is from the summit of Mt Isolation (4,005 Ft/1221M) looking due North. The distant high peak is Mt Washington, roughly 70 miles away. This time of day there was some haze over the near peaks. So I stacked a UV Haze filter with a Circular Polarizing Lens in front. The haze filter worked well and the polarizer cut the glare and gave the shot the rich blue and bright whites of the sky. To bring up the richness of the near fall colors I set the White Balance Shift to favor the Yellow through Red spectrum. The shot was produced with all manual settings. Photoshop for cropping and resizing only ... Bob
