This torrent in the foreground is a river that had overflowed its banks during the rainy season in Madagascar. What shocked me more than anything was its colour, which was due to all the topsoil being carried off with it! I followed the river's progress to a port on the west coast of the island and was appalled to see that, for the first few hundred yards out, the sea was this same colour, then there was definite line where the true sea colour began - no wonder the poor farmers there have a tough time farming!
I?ve had a few reviews thinking the foreground is soil, or residue left by the river - please note the foreground IS the river!
