This bit of water is at the end of a 2.5 mile outlet for Little Squam Lake. U.S. Rte. 3 parallels the length of the outlet. Along this stretch there are more photo ops. From game birds to old boat houses, marshes and cattails. On this day the air was calm and so was the water in the late afternoon side light. This was one of many shots from this angle. I wanted to bring out the cattails on the right a little more without blowing out the leaf colors and not change the sky color. I settled on upping the exposure compensation by +.5 and a circular polarizer set at minimum effect, just enough to hold the glare down on the leaves and not darken the sky. The rest I did in Photoshop. It was a very enjoyable shoot and a nice break on a long trip... Bob
