Nelson Mandela has always been one of my greatest heroes. I have recently been reminded of this truly amazing man through a book I've been given called 'Good Morning Mr. Mandela', written by his most trusted aide, an Afrikaner, Zelda la Grange. I took this photo a few of years ago, it's my son's hand and that of a very lovely homeless man we met in Detroit, known as Papa Smurf. So when this contest appeared on the list I knew exactly which photo I wanted to enter into it, but the original brick wall background was really very boring so, thanks to my reading material of the moment, I decided there was no better way of improving it than to place a South African flag behind the two hands and pay tribute to my hero Nelson Mandela and everything that he achieved.
