Hear The Music Contest Entry
Rhythms of Two Worlds is the South Indian and Saxophone Fusion. I took this phot at a traditional Hindu wedding of my friend's daughter from London.
In South Indian culture, the 'nadasvaram' ( a wind instrument) is considered to be very auspicious, and it is a key musical instrument played in almost all Hindu weddings and temples of the South Indian tradition. It is part of the family of instruments known as 'mangala vadyam' (lit. mangala "auspicious", vadya "instrument").
'Thavil' is a percussion instrument that are being played by two guys.
For a change the interest was raised manifold when the "Band' included a Saxaphone player who kept the onlookers enthralled with Indian classical music .
You could hear their music for a far off place too. No mikes!
Camera: Android OnePlus cell phone. Image cropped to FAR requirements.
