I worked for a while training UK social workers when a new style of social care budget (for disabled and elderly people) became law. This beautiful lady, a refugee from Iraq, was one of the elderly people we worked with. She had come to England with her only remaining son, whom she utterly adored - the other two had been killed in Iraq. Her son cared for her full-time, he did everything for her, and I have never seen a more devoted carer. When I took this photo he was standing just behind me and slightly to my left, she is looking straight at him, and the love she holds for him is just shining from her eyes. I don't know if it's merely because I got to know them both, but I am always deeply moved whenever I look at this photo, I hope you can see what I see.
