Believe it or not there is a thirty mile long lake underneath the fog. The island top poking up from the fog is on the US/Canada international border. Less than a quarter of the island is in the USA. There was a cave that ran the length of the island and of course the island became a major route for smuggling. Prior to the Civil War the cave was often used to smuggle "Runaway Slaves" into Canada. When alcohol was illegal during the 1930's the FBI and the RCMP agreed to seal off the cave. Oh yeah... Almost forgot, the lake, reportedly has its own 'Monster' named "Memphre". How quaint... Bob
