A young red-tailed hawk perched on a fencepost with the backdrop of the woods. A typical scene of days in the countryside in upstate NY. My fascination with birds of prey has been with me since I was a young child and as my passion for art grew, I was intrigued by the textures of these creatures. The soft flowing feathers converging with the sharpness of the talons, the intensity of the gaze. All fascinating and inspiring.

Mixed Media: None | As with all of my ink work, this was done from start to finish with ink. No pencil sketching.. I love the permanence with ink and how it relates to life. When we make a decision, we have to deal with the consequence, be it good, or be it bad. The same thing applies to my artwork. Some times if the mistake can't be blended into something positive, we have to start all over.. I've done that a few times :)
