Traditional Artwork of the Month Contest Winner

I created this portrait 40 years ago for my father's 60th birthday, from a photo I took of him when I was about 17. We were on his boat on Long Island Sound. Dad was in his element with rain and wind filling the sails on his yawl.

Drawing doesn't come naturally to me and it took me a little over a month to create and I haven't done anything like it since. LOL. But I found out that for me drawing is like sculpting on paper.
