Not Quite an Epstein!

My oldest sister used to have a bronze cat that had been sculpted by Epstein, but a few year ago she was burgled and the cat was stolen with many other of her prized objects. She has been so kind to me recently that I wanted to say a particularly special thank-you to her, so I found a photo of the Epstein cat on the internet (there were about 6 cast at the same time as hers) and created my own interpretation of it - mine is a bit smaller, and the eyes are very different. Then went to visit her last month with my special gift, and she was over the moon with it (whew! Lol) and now this little cat is very happily sitting in pride of place in her sitting room.
Post Type: Sculpture
Mixed Media: None | Created from clay then hollowed out, but not fired as I don't have a kiln. So instead I mixed PVA glue with acrylic paints to try to reproduce the colour the clay would have had after firing - the glue helps to strengthen the exterior enough to avoid minor damage from knocks.

Pays one point and 2 member cents.
