Riley, or "Princess" as I called her, was a great big beautiful yellow Labrador Retriever that I once pet sat for.


She had a chest of stuffed animals that were her "babies" and knew the names of all of them. One Valentines Day, I bought her a stuffed dog with a heart in it's paws, which her mom named "Lovey". From then on, every time that I arrived to babysit, Riley would run to her toy box and grab "Lovey" for me, as if she somehow knew that I had gotten it for her and wanted to show me how much she was enjoying her new "baby".


Sadly, Riley passed away a few years ago. I drew this portrait of her for her mom and dad soon after. She was a beautiful soul inside and out and greatly missed.
