Taken at La Foret de Singe, a conservation park near Rocamadour in France. It is estimated that only 8,000 of these apes remain in the wild (in Morocco and Algeria) and are now considered an endangered species. Scientists at La Foret de Singe have been studying these apes since 1974 and have 150 who roam free within their park, they have so far successfully reintroduced 600 back into the wild in family groups. Visitors can walk through the park, but must stay on the paths so as not to disturb them - it is a wonderful experience and well worth a visit! This very, very young one was just so adventurous and very, very cute.
