A cattle market in Madagascar is a very different affair than ours, with not a cattle truck in sight. All the Zebu (as they're called there) are walked to the market, some in ones or twos and others in huge herds. Depending where they're from, some will walk for up to ten days to get there. The man in the photo had travelled three days and had just that one bull to sell. But in Madagascar, if you own even just one zebu you are considered rich.
