Wildlife Photo Contest Contest Entry

I came across this cute little wild zebra foal on safari in the Massai Mara game reserve in Kenya. He had lost his mother and between calling for her, he occasionally lifted his lips (as here), which I think was possibly while trying to 'taste' the air for any signs/smells of her. I watched him for a while, and you'll be happy to hear that he did eventually find her - it's very dangerous for a foal to be alone for too long, with so many predators around!
