Red Wing Blackbird

Here we have a manual shooters nightmare - Strong midday sun with low humidity, lots of reflected light from the yellow pine trees in the background. The subject color is primarily black. Under these conditions it means lots of reflected glare. Of course I don't have a polarizer filter, but I can leave exp. comp at zero and adjust the exposure bias to -1.5 and keep the glare from blowing out the bird's feather details and facial features. A satin look for a Red Wing male... Bob
