As a friend pointed out, this is a rather ‘dark’ read for a fawn, but we’ll just look past the sad and depressing part of this story of a young fawn named Bambi growing up in the woods. The original book, ‘Bambi, A Life in the Woods’ was written by Felix Salten, later to be made into an animated movie by Walt Disney. I have the Salten book, but it doesn’t have the cute graphics of Bambi that people are familiar with. I was fortunate that one of the fawns was more than happy to help me out with getting my photo, especially since I had dumped a small amount of corn into the grass inside the open book-lol!
